Ethiopian Geothermal Association - The association aims to enhance the role of geothermal to contribute to the energy mix in Ethiopia and support geothermal professionals in research and development.

Legal and Regulatory Framework
In Ethiopia, geothermal energy exploitation is regulated by the Geothermal Resource Development Proclamation No. 981/2016 and the Geothermal Resource Regulation No. 453/2019. This law includes provisions for licensing both electricity and direct use projects. The Ethiopian Energy Authority is in charge of issuing licenses.
